Jets sign QB Brunell
Hempstead, NY – The New York Jets signed veteran quarterback Mark Brunell on Wednesday. The southpaw spent last season with the Super Bowl-winning New Orleans Saints as the backup to Drew Brees and completed 15-of-30 passes for 102 yards and one interception. He had not thrown a pass in 2007 with Washington and in 2008 with the Saints, appearing in just two games total over those two seasons. Since being drafted by Green Bay in 1993, Brunell has completed 2,753 passes for 31,928 yards and 182 scores for the Packers, Jaguars, Redskins and Saints. He has also rushed for 2,421 and another 15 touchdowns.
