Spoiler to Be Tested at Talladega
| | MRN Report
| Posted Wednesday, February 24, 2010 |
| | This will give fans their first glimpse of the new spoiler at Talladega. |
|
|
Talladega Tickets
Talladega Superspeedway officials announced today that the NASCAR Test Session on March 16 will be open to the public. This will give fans their first glimpse of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series cars circling the track using the new spoiler while confirming the restrictor plate size and gear ratio for the Aaron’s 499 race on April 25. It will also give fans the opportunity to experience the renovated frontstretch grandstands.
“The test session falls at a perfect time for us,” said Talladega Superspeedway President Rick Humphrey. “Our renovated grandstands will be open so fans can check out those areas and NASCAR will be unveiling their new competition package. It’s a great way for fans to get a feel for how Talladega is going to look during the Aaron’s Dream Weekend, April 23-25.” |

Re: Official NASCAR Thread Part II
The same test will be held next month at Lowes motor speedway. Nascar hasnt said when the spoiler will be back for good. But the guys that did not come up driving Usac and Modifieds like Stewart, Edwards, Gordan, Kahne, Bush, and many other drivers will start feeling the rear end. This will come in to play with the added downforce. This is when Dale Earnhrdt jr wil drive more like his winning ways of the 98&99 bush championship years, and his early years of cup before the time runs out. Will take Kyle Bush at sin city. 8-1now before practice. 1 unit

About goddamn time you got over here IH, good to see you joining in. Junk and guys, Iron Head is one of my buddies that really knows about NASCAR and it's history. He'll be a great addition here.

Re: Official NASCAR Thread Part II
Thank you CT. I am glad to be here. Just want to run this by you. I think two good plays for sat. The Sams Town 300 will be Greg Biffle and of coarse you gotta take Kyle. Kyles 200-1 and the Biff is 800-1. I believe these two guys are the ones to watch saturday. Im gonna wait for practice and probably put a little something on both of them depending the outcome. I'll keep you posted.

Re: Official NASCAR Thread Part II
This weekend the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads to Sin City for Sunday's Shelby American at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. To help you make your fantasy racing picks, Motor Racing Network brings you our weekly detailed look at some of the field for the 267-lap event.
Who's HOT at Las Vegas
• Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch are the three winners on the new track configuration.
• Jeff Burton leads all drivers with a 9.8 average finish in 12 starts.
• Jeff Gordon has finished sixth or better in four of his last five starts.
• Greg Biffle and Dale Earnhardt Jr. have respective average finishes of 5.0 and 6.0 with the COT (2 starts).
• Denny Hamlin has an 11.0 average finish in four starts.
• Matt Kenseth, who has two wins on the old configuration, is fifth in laps led (71) with the COT.
• Kevin Harvick and Kasey Kahne are the only other drivers that have competed in both COT races with average finishes of 10.0 or better.
Keep an Eye on at Las Vegas
• Vegas is the site of David Reutimann's first career top five in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
• Clint Bowyer finished second in this event last year.
• Kasey Kahne and Tony Stewart posted respective average finishes of 10.7 and 11.4 on 1.5-mile tracks in 2009.
• Kurt Busch will return in the same car that won at Texas last fall.
• Inaugural Vegas winner Mark Martin has finished in the top 10 in three of his last four starts (engine problems knocked him out in 2009).
• Joey Logano, who finished fifth last weekend at Auto Club, finished 13th in his first Vegas start in 2009.
• Jamie McMurray has two top-10 finishes on Vegas' new configuration.

Re: Official NASCAR Thread Part II
Here's what I'm taking early in an effort to get some value before the lines move after practice and Q.
Kyle Bush +800 .5 unit
Greg Biffle +1500 .25 unit
Jeff Burton +1500 .25 unit
I can see any or all 3 of these looking good and their lines going down. They are also on my radar for top 3 and 5 finishers, but this is all I've done so far.

Re: Official NASCAR Thread Part II
This is gonna be a tough one to call. We're gonna need to ponder on this one for a minute, looks like I may have to go with top 5s and 3s today.......
I'll probably leave my picks to win where it's at and go that route, be back in a bit

Re: Official NASCAR Thread Part II
If you go with one strait up to win. The best picks I see are Kyle B.,Mark Martin and Jimmie Johnson. They did have a good bit of rain last nite after the nationwide race, washing all of the rubber off of the track. I think this will play right into Chad Knaus's hand, making Jimmie agood pick. Oh he has won three of the eight races hes ran there. GL
